Body of missing woman found south of Olympia

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — A spokesman with the Thurston County sheriff's office says the body of a woman was found near Scott Lake one week after she was reported missing.

Lt. Paul Counts says a dog walker found her body in brush on Saturday afternoon.

The Olympian reports the 62-year-old woman lives in Scott Lake, south of Olympia. Her husband reported her missing on Feb. 28. She has not been identified.

Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock said Sunday that her death is under investigation though there were no signs of trauma to the body. An autopsy is scheduled on Tuesday.
