White and gold! Blue and black! Theories on why we see ‘The Dress’ differently

An intense debate took over social media Thursday after a photo of a dress surfaced that had people seeing it in different colors.

Tumblr user swiked uploaded a photo of the dress and asked:

“Guys please help me – is this dress white and gold, or blue and black? Me and my friends can’t agree…”

That’s all it took. From there, social media went wild!

The police in Philadelphia quickly had enough of the dress (you probably feel the same way).

Celebrities even chimed in:

And some tried to explain how people could see the dress differently:

We even started a poll to try and sort things out:

An engineer at our sister-station PIX11 News in New York had this to say:

The whole "dress" incident even had our own talent questioning things...

The Seattle Mariners saw something else completely.

So that happened.

All on the same day as a 45-minute police pursuit of a pair of llamas through the streets of Phoenix.
