Missing Pierce County teen found safe: 'It ended on a good note,' dad says

SEATTLE -- Seattle police found a missing developmentally disabled teenager from Pierce County in Seattle Thursday night and reunited him with his father.

"It ended on a good note," said John Lique, of the Gig Harbor area, as he stood next to his just-found son Tony Lique in Seattle Thursday night.

He said he hadn't talked to his son about what he did while he was missing for more than 24 hours. "He's a little torn and tattered," he said of his son, noting his hair had been colored a bit. "Blue spots that he didn't have before," he said.

Earlier Thursday, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department asked for the public's help  in locating Tony, who had been missing since 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Tonyis 18 but has the mental capability of someone much younger, the department said.

Tony's mother, Ronda Misenar Lique, posted this update at about 7:30 p.m. on her Facebook page: "It has been confirmed Tony rode the Sounder train to Seattle and is now somewhere in the U District. He may be with a 40-50 yr old curly haired woman that he met on the bus last night."

Tony's father, John, was driving around Seattle Thursday night looking for his missing son.

Then shortly before 9 p.m., Seattle police said they had found the teen safe and were moving to reunite him with his father.

Before he was declared missing, Tony was last seen riding Pierce County Transit bus 100 at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday from Purdy toward Tacoma.  According to the sheriff's department, Tony told someone he was going to the Tacoma Dome to meet his mom.
