Area ski resort suspends operations due to lack of snow

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The Mount Spokane Ski and Snowboard Park has suspended operations this week because mild temperatures and rain have reduced the snowpack.

The Spokesman-Review reports crews are trying to move enough snow to reopen runs this weekend at the park northeast of Spokane near the Idaho border.

The last time Mount Spokane struggled with a snow-challenged season of this magnitude was 10 years ago.
