CHICAGO — “I’m just here so I don’t get fined,” might work for a NFL press conference. But it doesn’t always secure you a date, two University of Illinois-Chicago students found out.
In a video uploaded to YouTube on Feb. 5, Alex Henry tries to meet girls using only words and phrases taken from Marshawn Lynch’s press conferences.
“Henry has been down on his luck recently,” the video explains. “But was inspired by Marshawn Lynch. Armed with his poetic musings, he set out into the cold world looking for love. These are the results. In this video the goal was to get some girls’ numbers only using Marshawn Lynch press conference quotes. This was only for fun.”
Though there was plenty of “no thank you’s” uttered to the poor chap, you might be surprised how successful the 20-year-old can be using just a few lines.
Henry told the Chicago Tribune that he had the most success using the line “Thank you for asking about my stomach.” The line “You have two more minutes to look at me” however, was not as successful.
