Polar Plunge: Freezin' for a reason to help Special Olympics athletes in Washington

SEATTLE -- Nearly 500 hundred people jumped into the chilly waters of Puget Sound to raise money for Special Olympics Washington.

Polar Plungers braved the wind, rain and cold Saturday at Seattle's Golden Gardens Park.

Q13 FOX News anchor and Washington's Most Wanted host David Rose took part in the event along with 100 local police officers, the Seahawks Blue Thunder drumline and many others.

"We like to have a good time, but we want to do good things for everybody. Why not come out and have fun and make everybody else feel a bit better," said 'Nearly Nekkid Norweigans' captain Erik Johnson.

The frigid dive helped raise more than $130,000 for Special Olympics.

The next Polar Plunge is February 21st at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma.
