Fine for Marshawn? Not this time, boss

SEATTLE -- Marshawn Lynch fulfilled all his media obligations prior to and after the Super Bowl, and he will not be fined, multiple sources are reporting.

Furthermore, a Beast Mode style hat Lynch wore during media appearances did not violate any league rules because it was given to him by an NFL licensee.

Tom Pelissero of USA Today was one of the first to tweet that Lynch wouldn't be fined.

Speculation was abound whether or not any of Lynch's actions prior to the Seahawks Super Bowl XLIX 28-24 loss to the New England Patriots would result in a fine. Lynch sat in front of the media during Media Day, but answered questions only with the response "I'm just here so I won't get fined."

Lynch again refused to answer questions the next day, but on Thursday before the Super Bowl provided reporters with a monologue.

Hey look, I mean all week, I told you all what is up. And For some reason reason you all continue to come back and did the same thing y’all did. I don’t know what story you all trying to get out of me. I don’t know what image you’re trying to portray of me. It doesn’t matter what you all think, what y’all say about me. Because when I go home at night, the same people that I look in the face my family, that I love, that’s all that matters to me. So y’all can go and make up what whatever you’ll want to make up because I don’t say enough to go and put anything out on me. But, I’ll come to you’ll event, and you’ll shove cameras and microphones down my throat. But when I’m at home in my environment, I don’t see you’ll. But you’ll mad at me. And if you’ll ain’t mad at me, then what you’ll here for.

Many also wondered whether a hat the star running back wore during his press conferences would incur him a fine. According to ESPN, the league reviewed  whether it permissible because of branding. They evidently decided it was OK.

Lynch was dinged $100,000 for not talking to the media during the 2014 season, and been hit numerous times for “obscene gestures” allegedly performed during touchdown celebrations.
