Lakewood man accused of trying to lure 2 children to his apartment

TACOMA -- Bail was set at $300,000 Monday for a Lakewood man accused of trying to lure three children to his home.

Patrick Huber pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Lakewood police said Huber tried to get a 12-year-old boy into his car in Woodbrook by the middle school at about 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 30, and then tried to persuade a 9-year-old girl and her 4-year-old brother to go with him to his apartment in Woodbrook.

He was initially charged with attempted luring for the girl and her brother.

All of the children ran away and no one was hurt or touched, police said.

Huber was found, interviewed and confessed, police said, adding that he has a criminal history in sex crimes and burglary.
