GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Forget about Deflategate. Forget about Marshawn Lynch and his lack of talking and forget about Tom Brady’s cold.

The time has come to play some football.

The 49th Super Bowl takes center stage today as the AFC Champion Patriots square off with the NFC Champion Seahawks.

And the league has announced that the roof at the stadium will be open for the contest. The game time temperature is slated to be in the upper 60’s with it reaching the 50’s during the fourth quarter.

Seattle has won five consecutive playoff games and head coach Pete Carroll is 7-2 in postseason with the Seahawks.

Seattle’s Russell Wilson is the youngest quarterback to start two Super Bowls and the first signal-caller to start two Super Bowls in his first three years in the league.

New England coach Bill Belichick (BEHL’-ih-chik) and quarterback Tom Brady are making their sixth Super Bowl appearance. They have won three times. Belichick’s 21 postseason victories are the most by any coach in NFL history and Brady’s 20 wins are the most by any starting quarterback.

This is the first postseason meeting between the clubs and if this stat means anything, they’ve split the 18 regular-season games they’ve played.
