Authorities: Man set wife on fire because he suspected she was cheating

SNOHOMISH, Wash. (AP) — A Snohomish man is accused of setting his wife on fire because he suspected she was cheating on him.

The woman suffered burns on her hands, left arm and chest that made it difficult for her to breastfeed the couple's 7-month-old child.

A statement from a Snohomish County sheriff's deputy filed in Everett District Court says the woman was injured Sunday but waited until Wednesday to seek medical attention because she feared her husband would hurt her or their four children.

The Daily Herald reports the 30-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for investigation of assault.
