CORDOVA, Tennessee (CNN) – A Tennessee parent was outraged after she says she saw a pentagram on a school bus and she says she has the photograph to prove it.
The mom told WMC-TV the she was so shocked she snapped a pic of the brake lights in the Durham School Services bus at a stop in Cordova Tennessee.
“Anyone who fears a God, if not God and Jesus Christ, should be outraged,” said mother, who was not identified by the television station because she is reportedly getting death threats after sharing the photo on social media.
The mother says she is appalled to have seen a pentagram in the brake lights.
“If you can’t put a cross on there, you cannot put a pentagram on it,” she said.
The woman pointed to Walgreen’s decision to pull wrapping paper from its shelves several weeks ago because the images appeared to be those of swastikas.
“Would we allow a swastika, for instance, to be on the back of the bus?” said the mother.
WMC-TV asked other parents to look at the photo.
“People should be upset if that is against their feelings, religions,” said Connie Shephard.
Still some people couldn’t see what all the fuss was about.
“I see a light,” said Marsha Hudson.
One woman who identified as a practicing Wiccan looked at the photo and said it did look like a pentagram. But she says the symbol is the same for her faith as the cross is for Christians.
“Wiccans, we believe in God, we believe in Jesus, but we don’t call him God,” said Jo Applewhite. “Find out what it really means before you start getting riled up and all worked up about something.”
Applewhite says people may be making a fuss over nothing.
“Go find out if it was intentional,” she said.
WMC-TV said school district officials had not returned their inquires about the bus lights in question.
