Oregon man charged in sex case from Asia
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A missionary worker from Oregon has been returned to the United States to be prosecuted on an accusation that he molested a boy while in Cambodia.
Daniel Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in U.S. District Court in Eugene.
The Register-Guard newspaper reports the 36-year-old man from Coos Bay was lodged in a Eugene jail this week after authorities in Cambodia handed him over to FBI agents.
An anti-pedophile group and several media reports say Johnson recently completed a one-year prison sentence in Cambodia for sexually abusing boys who were in his care at an orphanage.
A federal grand jury in Eugene voted to indict Johnson on Dec. 10.
