State dishes out 3 more pot licenses with lottery

FEDERAL WAY - If you live in Federal Way, Lake Stevens or Bremerton, your new neighbor may be a retail marijuana store. That's because three more businesses have a chance at a license to open up a pot store, the News Tribune reported.

State regulators held a lottery last week for eight applicants that had wrongly been disqualified in a previous lottery, due to errors, the paper reported

Three of the applications won, so a new store could be coming to Federal Way, Lake Stevens and Bremerton. That would mean that Federal Way would have four stores, Bremerton would have three and Lake Steves could have two stores, the News Tribune reported.

In reality, not all of the applicants may succeed in going through the application process in qualifying for a state license.

In Federal Way, winning applicant BB&B faces an even more difficult path. The city of Federal Way has a long-established moratorium that prevents state-licensed marijuana stores from opening.
