Sumatran tiger cubs debut at Tacoma's Point Defiance Zoo (PHOTOS)

TACOMA -- The community is getting a glimpse of three Sumatran tiger triplets that were born last month at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium.

These adorable cubs are now 8-weeks-old and are extremely playful.

Kirana, Dari and Indah tumbled around and played using their mother as a jungle-gym while our Q13 FOX cameras rolled.

Everything is a toy to these little tigers and watching them grow is a joy for their keepers.

"Being able to see them grow from when they were really little and not able to move around very much to now they're running around with mom and biting her ears it's really fun to see their growth," said staff biologist Telena Welsh. "It's also fun to see their personalities emerge."

Sumatran tigers are extremely rare with fewer than 400 still living in the wild on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

There have only been two other litters of Sumatran cubs born all year in North America.

You can visit the cubs and their mom at the Point Defiance Zoo starting Friday at 11:00 a.m.
