300 Roosevelt High School students march in protest of grand jury decision

SEATTLE -- Around 300 students from Seattle's Roosevelt High School left class around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday and took to the streets to protest a Ferguson grand jury decision not to indict a police officer in the shooting death of a 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Seattle Public Schools tweeted about the march:

The march is not sanctioned by the school, administrators said, and any absences will be counted against the students.

By 11:10 a.m., the marchers were near the intersection of University Way and 45th Street, causing some traffic backups.
