Eastbound I-90 at Snoqualmie Pass reopens, but snow slides shut North Cascade Highway

SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. -- Eastbound I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass reopened at mid-morning Sunday after being closed earlier in the day due to snow and vehicle spinouts  the Washington State Department of Transportation said.

Meanwhile, State Route 20 (North Cascades Highway) was temporarily closed at about 11 a.m. Sunday from Milepost 171 at the Silver State Gate to Milepost 134 at Diablo Gate to due to snow slides, WSDOT said. There was no estimate on reopening.

More snow is expected, possibly 6 inches.

If you plan on heading up over the pass, be prepared.  Bring a set of chains just in case.

Meanwhile, there was a tornado warning for Pacific and Wahkiakum counties early Sunday morning, but that expired at 9:45 a.m. as storms moving through the area weakened.
