1 shot, others tied up in home invasion robbery; suspects on the loose

TACOMA -- One person was shot and at least two other victims were tied up during a home invasion robbery Tuesday afternoon in Tacoma.

According to Pierce County Sheriff's Department Det. Ed Troyer, sheriff's deputies received calls of a home invasion robbery sometime after noon at a home in the 8300 block of 19th Avenue Ct. E. in Tacoma.

Troyer said one victim was shot blocks away from the home in a car, and two other victims were tied up inside the home by unidentified suspects.

The injured victim was being transported to an area hospital with unknown wounds.

Deputies said the victims were followed from a marijuana dispensary, and a possible gun battle ensued in the robbery.

Officers are currently looking for the suspects, possibly driving a tan or white Chevy Suburban and a pewter or light-colored Chevy Tahoe. Both vehicles may be riddled with bullet holes, deputies said.

One or more of the suspects may have been shot and injured.

Deputies are looking into whether or not the suspects from this crime are the same ones that were involved in another home-invasion recently in University Place.
