EVERETT, Wash. — The Veterans Heritage Museum in Everett is in dire need of funding and a new facility.

Right now, the museum is set up inside VFW Post 2100 in a 1,000-square-foot space.  It’s just too small for the vast collection of items they have.

The museum was originally set up in Seattle but, due to funding constraints, the museum was forced to move to its current location.

The items on display include artifacts from the Civil War up to the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The president of the museum, Todd Crooks, says they have a lot to offer.

"We have everything that the average guy used every day -- his canteen, his mess kit, how he cooked his meals, the cold weather gear they had to wear when they were freezing in Korea,  things like that are the stories I like to tell," Crooks said.

Many of the valuable artifacts are still in storage because they simply don't have the room to display them and they worry about security in the VFW.
