Resident blames Tacoma house fire on exploding e-cigarette; one person in critical condition

TACOMA -- A resident told Tacoma firefighters Tuesday that a house fire that critically injured one person started when her e-cigarette exploded and caught furniture on fire, the Tacoma Fire Department said.

The department said it was still investigating the cause of the fire in the 1300 block of East 64th Street.

Five people were in the house at the time; four made it out, but one victim, a man in his 30s, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
