FINALLY! Instagram update allows you to edit captions after posting

MENLO PARK, California -- It’s the Instagram update users have waited for since the inception of the photo sharing app.

“We've added the ability to go back and edit captions on your posts,” the social media site posted to its own Instagram account Monday afternoon.

In less than an hour that post had more than 170-thousand likes and 45-hundred comments.

“This has been one of the top requests that we've heard from the community, and we're excited to finally bring it to you today,” read a section of the post.

The new edit option is in the menu under each of your photos.

Instagram also announced an update to its search functionality.

“You'll see that the Explore icon at the bottom of your screen has changed to a magnifying glass and when you open Explore, you'll now see two tabs: Photos and People. The Photos tab contains the same scrolling grid of photos and videos you already know. The new People tab highlights interesting accounts for you to discover.”
