Police: 24-year-old attacked multiple people with sword

LYNNWOOD -- A 24-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a house full of people with a sword was arrested Wednesday after police were called to a report of a bleeding man standing in the middle of the street yelling for help.

Around 9:10 p.m., police received calls of a man standing in the middle of the street in the 13800 block of Fender Drive. The caller said the man was bleeding from his neck and arm and yelling for help.

A short time later, a woman called 911 to report her grandson tried to cut her with a sword at a residence in the 13700 block of Fender Drive. Before police could arrive, a 40-year-old victim entered a nearby Dollar Tree store and told employees he was at a house when a man cut him with a sword.

Deputies called to the home in 13800 block of Fender Drive found a 24-year-old man holding the weapon. They believed he was responsible for the assault, and police took him into custody.

Two of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition was not immediately available.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.
