A wet, windy morning commute hampers drivers; poses risk with standing water

SEATTLE -- The newest storm to move into Western Washington made Tuesday morning's commute a real challenge, with possible standing water on the roads and the danger of vehicles hydroplaning.

Drivers should stay alert and slow down, police say.

Near Westport, Wash., the coast was hit hard in the storm. A wind advisory was in effect until 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Travel Times were always backed up at 6:45 a.m., with Everett to Seattle travel times nearing 90 minutes. Everett to Bellevue times were also backed up, nearing 80 minutes.
