Police: Man wearing Halloween mask who robbed Seattle bank still on the run

SEATTLE --  Police are searching for a masked man who robbed a bank Thursday morning in North Seattle, causing five local schools to temporarily lock down.

Officers were called to reports of a bank robbery around 11:40 a.m. in the 7500 block of 35th Avenue NE. According to witnesses, a short man wearing a mask entered the bank and demanded money, making off with an undisclosed amount.

Several schools were ordered to 'shelter in place' as a precaution while police searched for the robber. The 'shelter in place' was lifted less than an hour later. The suspect was not found.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5-foot-3, wearing a denim jacket, jeans and a black hat. He may be armed.
