Russell Wilson: 'I don't think running for me is ever part of the game plan ... it just kind of happens'

WASHINGTON -- Seahawks QB Russell Wilson said he didn't intend to run the ball so much against Washington.

Wilson ended the game with 122 yards rushing — a Monday Night Football record for a quarterback and a career best —  as well as going 18-for-24 through the air with two touchdowns.

"I don’t think running for me is ever part of the game plan, really. It just kind of happens," Wilson told reporters after the game Monday night.

He added that he would prefer to hand the ball off to Marshawn Lynch, but "if something's not there, I just try to take off and get something positive.

"Most of the runs were handing off to Marshawn, but if it didn’t look like it was going to be any good, I just decided to keep it."

"I took only one good hit tonight … but you know, I feel good," Wilson said of his runs.
