Victim: Postal worker who hit me was 'laughing hysterically' when she drove toward me

BELLEVUE -- Police arrested a U.S. postal worker accused of intentionally hitting a man with her vehicle.

Officers said this happened at about 11 a.m. Friday in front of Phantom Lake Elementary School.

According to Bellevue police, the victim, Bradley Kitchen, saw the postal worker yelling obscenities at another person, became concerned and wanted to take a photo of the truck to file a complaint.

When Kitchen walked over to the postal truck, the postal worker allegedly put it into drive and intentionally hit the victim. Police said Kitchen staggered back before the suspect struck his leg two more times.

"The victim reported that the suspect was laughing hysterically while she was intentionally driving towards the victim," according to Seattle police officer Seth Tyler.

The victim was not seriously hurt.

Police took the suspect, a 55-year-old woman from Newcastle, to the Bellevue Police Department. She was interviewed by Bellevue police and U.S. postal inspectors.
