FERGUSON, Mo. -- Law enforcement officers clashed with protesters in Ferguson Thursday night. Twelve people were taken into custody.

KTVI-TV obtained video from a protester showing law enforcement officers walking toward the protesters in front of the police station. Some protesters are standing on the sidewalk and a few were in the street.

It's unclear what led to law enforcement officers moving in on protesters. The video starts when police are walking toward protesters.

At this point we don't know what those arrested are being charged with, but according to Democratic Committee Woman Patricia Bynes, who was at last night's protest, law enforcement officers declared that any protesters using language that incites violence would be arrested.

As they were being arrested they were chanting "Show me what democracy looks like."

This all comes after a group of lawyers suing local law enforcement for the treatment of protesters encouraged protesters to continue their efforts.

St. Louis County Police say there was no violence last night, but they say some of the protesters were using obscene language.

As of 7 a.m. the Ferguson Police Department had not released any information about what happened.
