SEATTLE - Seattle police are investigating two separate stabbings overnight that left one man in critical condition, and two others in stable condition.

Just before 12 a.m. Tuesday, SPD and Seattle Fire department crews responded to a reported stabbing in the 1100 block of Northwest Ballard Way.

The Seattle Fire department tweeted that a 40-year-old man was stabbed in the head and a 53-year-old man was also stabbed. Both men were transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable conditions. Details of the stabbing incident have not been released.

The second stabbing happened around 1:40 a.m. in downtown Seattle at 4th Avenue and Pine Street. When police arrived they found a man stabbed on the sidewalk and a car parked in the middle of Pine Street, police said.

According to witnesses, a group of people jumped out of the car and started fighting with another group of people on the sidewalk. At some point someone pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. Police are trying to determine which group the suspect and the victim were in, police said.

Medics transported the stabbing victim to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening wounds.

"We have homicide assault detectives out here with CSI," said Det. Patrick Michaud of the Seattle Police Department. "We're looking at surveillance video and talking with people that were in the vehiclice behind us."

This is a developing story. More information will be posted as soon as it's available.
