Seahawks TE Zach Miller undergoes ankle surgery, out for unknown number of games

RENTON -- The Seattle Seahawks announced Monday that tight end Zach Miller had ankle surgery during the bye week and would miss an undetermined number of games.

The team noted that Miller sat out two practices prior to the Seahawks’ Week 3 win against the Denver Broncos, but played in the game and caught two passes for 12 yards.  Team officials decided that it was best move to have Miller’s ankle problem taken care of during the bye week.

The Hawks still have No. 2 tight end Luke Willson and Cooper Helfet and also have used tackle Alvin Bailey as a third tight end in short-yardage situations.
