Police search for shooting suspect in south Seattle after man collapses in front of them

SEATTLE -- Police are searching for a possible suspect after a man walked up to officers and collapsed in the South Park neighborhood.

Officers said that person was shot in the chest and leg. Medics were called to the scene on South Trenton Street early Sunday morning.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police officers had been in the area for 45 minutes after receiving calls for reports of an argument in the area. At first, they didn't find anyone who needed assistance.

A few minutes later, police said callers reported shots fired in the area, but officers didn't find anything until the victim approached them and collapsed.

Detectives said police scoured the area for a crime scene and collected evidence.

No further information was available.

Seattle police are asking anyone with information to call 9-1-1 right away.
