Watch the cutest beagle ever surprise travelers by finding their lost belongings (VIDEO)

EDITOR'S NOTE:  This video is a hoax and the airline now admits it does not actually employ Sherlock to help passengers find lost items.

AMSTERDAM -- KLM Airlines is releasing the hounds.

Or rather releasing a hound.

His name, appropriately, is Sherlock and whenever a KLM employee finds an item a passenger has left on an airplane they call in the little beagle.

He sniffs the iphone, teddy bear or even a laptop and then off he goes racing through the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol following his nose until he finds the rightful owner.

“Our main goal is to return lost items to owners as fast as possible,” says Sandra List of KLM’s Team Lost & Found in a video posted to YouTube by the airline. “I really love that we’re getting some help with that.”

Sherlock is no ordinary pooch. Beagles are bred as tracking dogs because of their keen sense of smell.

And then there’s all the extra training.

“We train for muscle, strength, endurance and of course socialization,” says handler Dirk van Driel in the KLM video.

Sherlock is so cute he might make you leave something behind on your next flight through Schiphol on purpose just to meet him.
