Suspect arrested in fatal stabbing of 35-year-old man in Tacoma

TACOMA -- A 38-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a Tacoma man Monday night, Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

No other information was immediately available.

The victim was identified as John Ware Jr., 35, by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office.

A couple who live in the area of 12th and State Street said there was some sort of altercation outside their house and then the stabbed man pounded on their door.

The couple said they called 911, but he was dead by the time medics arrived.
