Former Seattle private school coach indicted for allegedly filming students undressing on field trips

SEATTLE -- A federal grand jury indicted Jason Christopher Paur, a former cross-country ski coach at Seattle's private Bush School, on five child porn-related offenses Wednesday stemming from a school trip to Canada.

Jason Christopher Paur, 44, of Seattle, is accused of secretly filming students undressing on school trips.

Paur was arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in December 2013 at Silver Star ski area in British Columbia.  The arrest came after female students on a school sponsored field trip discovered a video camera hidden in their bedroom.

The camera had been positioned to video-tape the young students while they got dressed after showering.

U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan said Wednesday that the federal grand jury indicted Paur on two counts of production and transportation of child pornography, and one count each of production of child porn with intent to transport, possession of child porn and transportation of minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Paur remains in Canadian custody, Durkan said.

According to records in the case and the indictment, the investigation revealed that Paur had secretly recorded students while on the annual skiing field trip in 2011 and 2012.  The camera seized in Canada contained images of students between the ages of 14 and 17 being secretly filmed while changing clothes or after exiting the shower.

The indictment alleges Paur used the pictures for his own sexual gratification, and transported the pictures from Canada to the United States.  The indictment further alleges that Paur traveled with the underage girls to Canada knowing that he planned to film them for his own sexual gratification.

Paur was fired by the school after his arrest.
