Man arrested for allegedly firing gun, trying to lure kids in Seattle's Brighton neighborhood
Officers responded to reports of shots being fired in the area of Rainier Avenue South and South Graham Street around 3:15 p.m, police said.
Three nearby schools had their students “shelter in place” as a precaution.
"At about the same time, someone called 911 to report that a man, with the same description as the suspect firing the gun, was trying to lure several children into his car," police said.
A witness pointed out the suspect to officers who arrested him and recovered a loaded handgun, police said.
Victims also confirmed the same man was trying to lure children into his car, police said.
The suspect was being booked into King County Jail, police said, for numerous crimes stemming from the shooting and child-luring incident.
