UPDATE: Man struck by car in Kirkland crosswalk dies

KIRKLAND -- A man in his 40s who was struck by a car while in a crosswalk in Kirkland Monday has died of his injuries, the King County Medical Examiner's Office said Tuesday.

According to the Kirkland Police Department, the man was crossing 119th Place NE from west to east around 3:30 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a Toyota Prius driven by a woman in her 50s. The vehicle hit the man, and he suffered severe head trauma.

The man was transported with life-threatening injuries to Harborview Medical Center, where he died.

The Kirkland Police Department said the driver was cooperating and that neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a contributing factor in the crash, police said.
