BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. -- Bainbridge Island police are asking for the public’s help finding a couple on the run.

Kristopher Nickerson, 31, and Ericka Nitz, 24, have extensive criminal histories.

"Last weekend we believe there was a car prowl allegedly committed by them. The credit cards that were taken by them were used illegally here on the island,” Police Chief Matthew Hamner said.

Hamner said he is especially concerned about the public’s safety because Nickerson has a history of carrying and using guns during crimes. Both are wanted by the state Department of Corrections and have no-bail warrants.

Nickerson also has a warrant for arrest in Thurston County for theft.

They are Bainbridge Island natives, and officers think it is likely they are still in the area.

“We have a limited number of officers and they're tied up many times doing things that aren't in pursuit of these individuals, so having thousands of eyes out there looking for us is of huge value,” said Hamner.

Nickerson has a tattoo of the cartoon character, Felix the Cat, holding a knife on his left arm and some writing on the right side of his neck.

If you can tell Bainbridge Island police where to find them, Crime Stoppers will pay you a cash reward of up to $1,000. Call the hotline anonymously at 1-800-222-tips.
