SEATTLE -- A man walked into Seattle's downtown Nordstrom store Friday, asked a jewelry clerk to show him some items, then pulled a gun, stole up to $25,000 of jewelry and escaped outside on a bicycle, police said.

Police officers flooded the surrounding blocks around the 500 block of Pine Street, but were unable to find the suspect.

Police said most of the items the gunman stole will have "Bony Levy" stamped on them.

Detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.  The suspect is described as a black male in his late thirties.  He has a distinctive tattoo in the webbing of his hand of three parallel lines.
