45-year-old man hit by Sound Transit train gravely injured, police say

SEATTLE -- A 45-year-old man was gravely injured when struck by a Sound Transit train in Seattle's Sodo district Wednesday afternoon, police said.

"How and under what circumstances the collision occurred are under investigation now," the Seattle Police Department blotter said.

Officers were called to Occidental Ave South and South Horton Street around 5:45 p.m. after a man was struck by a train.

The injured man was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries, police said.

Seattle police are investigating the incident.
