BALTIMORE — Janay Rice, wife of suspended NFL player Ray Rice who was released by the Baltimore Ravens, apparently posted a statement Tuesday on Instagram calling the situation a “nightmare” and slamming the media for ruining their lives.

“To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is a horrific (sic),” she wrote.

The Baltimore Ravens released Rice on Monday after a video surfaced showing him knocking her out with a punch in February, and dragging her limp body out of a casino elevator. The NFL then suspended him indefinitely from football.

In response to texts sent to him on Tuesday, Rice texted CNN sports journalist Rachel Nichols: “I’m just holding strong for my wife and kid, that’s all I can do right now.”

The actions against Ray Rice were taken Monday after a video surfaced showing him knocking her out with a punch in February.

The Instagram post, reported by various media, appeared to be authentic.

For her to sit her and still marry the man who beat her, and then defend him! Is mind blowing. I think the nfl made a right choice, and they both need help.

As long as wife beaters don’t get counseling they will continue. It would have been better for all concerned if the NFL had him get the counseling he obviously needs. What the NFL did is punish her also for his actions by taking away their income.

She is a stupid fool. Just how stupid does a woman have to be to remain with a woman beater? She does not have the ability to learn from the others before her, and she will likely wind up dead at the hands of this abusive woman-beater coward.

Did you watch the video? I did. People are free to express their thoughts, especially when they watch insanity in action. This is not a ‘bs’ story and does not belong to anybody being it is a mental problem that cost many a women their lives. These violent criminal scum need to be locked up.

Ain’t that the truth! Guess she hasn’t thought about how you can’t take it with you in case this slug of a human murders her.
