2 people hit by gunfire overnight; police investigating

SEATTLE -- Two men suffered minor injuries late Wednesday night in two separate Seattle shootings, police said.

Officers arrived at the first scene around 11:30 p.m. to find a 19-year-old victim lying in a crashed car in the 4200 block of South Court Street in the Mount Baker neighborhood. Three others riding in the car allegedly told police they were chased by a single car who fired gunshots at them.

The 19-year-old was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to the second scene minutes later when witnesses heard gunshots in the 7500 block of 24th Avenue Southwest in High Point area. A 37-year old victim suffered a gunshot to the ankle, and was transported to the hospital.

It is unknown of the two incidents are related.

Police are asking for the public's help in solving these cases. Anyone with information in either of the incidents is asked to please call 911 and speak in person to the officer.
