A woman was allegedly attacked by a pit bull Wednesday.

SEATTLE -- A 28-year-old woman is in serious condition at a local hospital after being bit multiple times by a pit bull, Seattle Fire officials said. Two others were injured in the incident, police said.

Seattle police were called to investigate a report of two pit bulls attacking a woman around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday near the corner of South Cloverdale and Beacon Avenue South in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle.

According to Seattle police, witnesses spotted a woman being attacked by two dogs. A man and a woman jumped in to help, and were also bitten.

Firefighters on the scene treated the first victim for multiple wounds, including abrasions on her head. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The other woman was treated for minor wounds, and the man was being treated for cardiac issues, firefighters said.

Seattle police detained the dogs following the attack. The dog's care will likely be transported to Seattle Animal Control.

It was not immediately known if the dogs were roaming the streets, or the attacks occurred in a yard.
