Vandals leave vodka, tomato calling card at local high school
Vandals hit Nathan Hale High School
SEATTLE -- Vandals who broke windows and damaged a storage unit at an area school left a vodka bottle and a tomato behind as their apparent calling card, Seattle Public Schools said.
Vandals broke into Nathan Hale High School in the 10700 block of 30th Avenue NE sometime overnight Monday, school officials said, cutting a chain-link fence to get into the school.
They damaged the school's storage unit, officials said, and some windows. A bench was thrown onto the athletic field.
Officials alerted police to the vandalism. It is unknown if school officials suspected a culprit.
School starts Wednesday at Nathan Hale, and freshman orientation is today.
