Kraft recalls nearly 8,000 cases of American cheese singles

NORTHFIELD, Illinois -- Kraft Foods Group announced a voluntary recall Friday of 7,691 cases of single-slice American cheese that the company said could cause illness.

Kraft issued the recall for four varieties of regular Kraft American Singles Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product.

The company said a supplier did not store an ingredient at the correct temperature. Some of the cheese could have spoiled.

The cheese was distributed across the United State. The recall is for products with “Best When Used By” dates of Feb. 20, 2015, and Feb. 21, 2015.
