Report: 56 people hurt in tour bus crash in British Columbia

MERRITT, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- A tour bus crash on the Coquihalla Highway left 56 people injured, six critically, Thursday, CBC News reported.

The tour bus was heading from Okanagan, BC to the Vancouver area when it hit a median flipped, police said.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police told CBC that everyone on the bus was hurt.  Nineteen ambulances were sent to the scene along with six helicopters.



Six passengers in critical condition were airlifted to a hospital and fifteen passengers reportedly suffered broken bones.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police are investigating the cause.
