Seahawks trim roster to reach 75-man limit

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Seahawks trimmed the roster down to 75 players Tuesday, announcing a series of moves in order to reach the NFL mandated roster limit, Seahawks.com reported.

The Seahawks waived or placed on the injured list defensive tackle Michael Brooks, wide receiver David Gilreath and Linebacker Horace Miller Tuesday. Linebacker Heath Farwell, cornerback A.J. Jefferson and guard C.J. Davis were placed on injured reserve. Cornerback Eric Pinkins was placed on the non-football injury list.

The team needed to reach a 75-man roster by 1 p.m. Tuesday as mandated by the NFL. The roster must again be cut down to 53 players by Saturday.

The Seahawks close out their preseason Thursday night against the Oakland Raiders.
