Overnight shooting leaves Belltown businesses damaged

SEATTLE -- An escalating argument led to gunfire which damaged businesses early Sunday morning in Belltown.

Witnesses told Seattle police there was an argument between a pedestrian and a passing car around 2:30 a.m. on the 220 block of 3rd Avenue.

They said the argument escalated and the car drove onto the sidewalk toward the shooter. That person jumped out-of-the-way and fired at the car as it drove away.

Several businesses were struck by bullets. Police said they found ten shell casings from a handgun in the area.

Both the shooter and the car fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

Nobody was hurt. If you have any information about the shooting, you're asked to call 9-1-1.
