PHOTOS: Ocean Shores viewer asks, 'What the heck is this thing?'

OCEAN SHORES, Wash. -- Another mystery, or a clearly recognizable skeleton?

Q13FOX News viewer Robin Caballero snapped these photos of a bizarre looking skeleton she found while walking the beaches of Ocean Shores two weekends ago. According to Caballero, the skeleton was about 15 feet long and had a head like a dolphin, hair and possible small wings or webbed skin.

Caballero said the sight was "extremely creepy" to see in person, and like nothing she had ever seen before.

We showed Dyanna Lambourn of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife the photos, and she believes it is likely the remains of a phocidae, probably a harbor seal or elephant seal.

Elephant seals were nearly hunted to extinction by the end of the 19th century, but their numbers have since recovered.
