Kirkland police searching for dangerous identity theft fugitive
KIRKLAND -- Kirkland Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down Jocelyn Ruiz.
Investigators say Ruiz not only stole a woman's identity, but also conspired with two associates to rob her in retaliation for filing an identity theft report.
"She's able to change the group of people she's with, who's she's with, even what she looks like.. she's able to be the ideal companion or best friend because she knows what she's after," said one of Ruiz's victims.
The victim spoke out Wednesday night, but asked that we protect her identity.
"I got home after ten at night they waited for me to get home. He was right outside my door with gloves on and a knife," said the victim.
"People nowadays are willing to do anything for a little bit of money, even killing someone over such a small amount of money."
The victim alleges Ruiz made nearly $12,000 in credit card charges on multiple cards.
Ruiz remains at large, failing to appear on her most recent court appearance.
King County Superior Court has since issued a warrant for her arrest for attempted robbery 1st degree, identity theft 1st degree, and attempted burglary 1st degree with a $250,000 bail.
Ruiz is known to frequent the Kent, Renton and Tukwila area and use the moniker “Jocy Madrid.” Her whereabouts are currently unknown.
