Move Over Soccer Camp: Tech Camp is a Hit this Summer

SEATTLE-

Kids from all over our state are spending the summer on the University of Washington campus learning what it's like to be a programmer.  Instead of just playing the video games, they are creating the video games.  The camp is called iD Tech Camp.  Kids, ages 7 to 17, learn how to create an app, game design, film making and 3D modeling for one week.

"I like playing video games so I decided at this game, by not make a game," says 9-year-old Westley.

What these kids are creating during their summer break,  are similar to what adults are making in the real world.

"Programming and tech is our future," says camp director Ryne Jones.

iD Tech Camp is offered in 80 different locations in the country.
