1 dead, 1 seriously hurt in Beacon Hill shooting

SEATTLE -- One man died and another is in critical condition after a shooting late Thursday on Beacon Hill, officials said.

Several callers reported hearing the shots around 10:20 p.m. in an alley on the 1700 block of South Hanford Street.

Officers arrived in less than a minute and found two people with gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

One man died in the emergency room. The other remained in critical condition on Friday.

Seattle homicide detectives say there are no other suspects in the case. The men have not been identified.
