Person missing after being swept into ocean on Oregon Coast

GARIBALDI, Ore -- The Coast Guard is looking for a person who was swept into the ocean Monday afternoon in Oregon.

According to KPTV, Coast Guard officials received a call around 4:30 p.m. that a person was stuck in the water near the north jetty. Rescue boats and helicopters were called to the scene, but they were unable to locate anyone.

Crews were once again on the scene Tuesday.

A Coast Guard official said the person was part of a group home for mentally handicapped adults. It was unknown if the person was a resident or a staff member.
